When I think of feathers in fashion, my mind slips away to a world of fantasy and elegance.

Gentlemen in top hats, fine Italian suits and ladies in long sleek gowns with feathered accents paired with wide exclusive hats that are feathered at the brim. My instant vision is of the iconic class act Old Hollywood star, Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. Several scenes after her transformation as Ms. Doolittle, her styles timelessly featured long vibrant feathers.

Glamour galore

The beauty of feathers is that it does not only exude class, glamour and potentially even wealth but it is used in playful and trendy ways!"

Let’s now step back into reality. The beauty of feathers is that it does not only exude class, glamour and potentially even wealth but it is used in playful and trendy ways! There are no limits when it comes to wearing this ruffled tuft. Adopting the trend is a marvelous way to make a strong evening statement. You can simply spice up your party look with feathered sleeves or a lively party dress fluffed from top to bottom (I have seen a lot of these - very 60’s inspired). Hot out of the designer’s hands, Christopher Kane spotlights his newest blazer coming in white or black with bronze and gold feathers displayed at the base of the sleeve and slightly sneaking up from the side pockets. This is an innovative and funky fresh use of design that is undoubtedly a hit!

Runway Luxury

Top designers snatching these feathers for their own glam take on the fall favorite include: Prada, Valentino, Parosh, Miu Miu, and Jovani, to name a few. I must say the newest sleek style rendition of the Sexy Black Dress “SBD” by Jovani has stolen my heart! Perfect for a holiday party this gal garment is made of midnight black velvet, clings tight to the body, the neckline and shoulders are bare by a strapless bodice and of course, thin black Ostrich feathers placed at the neckline… talk about a show stopper!

If $1,450 for a slinky strapless Jovani dress is out of budget, you can do what I did! Sponsored by Shein I was gifted a gorgeous strapless, off-the-shoulder top with a similar look to the Jovani ensemble, this sexy blouse includes light black feathers on the neckline. This Shein top is sold at a feasible $15, and what makes this practical piece so enchanting is its versatility. I enjoyed dressing up for a rooftop dinner with this by adding chic slacks and stilettos, I have been able to sport the shirt at work by matching it with a simple black blazer AND I have worn this Shein feathered piece at brunch. All you need to do is tie a charming look together by combining the top with chino shorts or a solid colored Capri.

Consider joining the flock? Behold the big feather energy everyone is raving about this season and partake in this soaring celebration!

Stay a while, don't be a stranger

Welcome to my world...

The past couple of years have been full of adventures, from becoming a lover of soy candle making, to scuba diving in the Red Sea, to exploring new exotic international lands, to getting married to my best friend and owning my sweetheart Shih-poo puppy.

All this has made me a better version of myself with so much more to share, and thats what this space is for.

Let the posts
come to you.
